Treehouse Museum is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with programs and special events, and work as exhibit hosts. Treehouse can provide real-world, confidence-building experiences, and opportunities to acquire valuable job skills.

At Treehouse, we have several categories of volunteers.

Friends of Treehouse Volunteers

Adult volunteers who can commit to a regular schedule of volunteering can really make a difference to Treehouse’s school and public programs. Scheduled training sessions are required. Tasks include exhibit supply preparation, cleaning, and special projects for the first 20 hours of service and then helping with tours and theater programs.

Group Volunteers

School groups, church groups, business groups, or family groups can volunteer to help at Treehouse with special projects or events. Each member of the group must complete a volunteer application and group interview before being accepted.

Teens at Treehouse

Teens at Treehouse Volunteers have the opportunity to meet new people, learn job skills, and make a difference at the Museum as they serve families and schools. Teens at Treehouse and are trained to help with ParticiPlays® in the Simmons Storybook Theater, assist with activities in the Art Garden, present Exhibit Spotlights, lead games and activities in the exhibit galleries, and prepare materials for exhibits or use in the Art Garden. Teens age 16 and up (or former Special Participating Youth volunteers) can also serve as Event Volunteers at special Treehouse celebrations, including the Enchanted Woods in October. Those wishing to participate as Event Volunteers must audition and commit to rehearsals and a certain number of hours.

In general Teens at Treehouse Volunteers must be age 16-19, must commit to serve four hours per month, and must attend scheduled training sessions. Applications are accepted at any time.

All Teens at Treehouse volunteers must complete a volunteer application and have an interview with our Volunteer Mentor before being accepted.
