Here’s a riddle for you: how can Treehouse Museum have been open since 1992 but be celebrating its 6th birthday?
Treehouse opened its doors on February 29, 1992 so this year we get a real birthday. You could say we are celebrating 24/6 this year. And, because the 29th is a Monday, we are going to celebrate twice. On Monday, February 29 we are inviting our preschool-aged visitors and their grown-ups to party with as we make hopping frog hats in the Art Garden, play a frog and lily pond toss game, join in a leaping from Alphabet Foot to Foot activity, and more. We’ll even have a treat bag to take home as children leave. On Saturday, March 5 we’ll be celebrating with an even bigger party and if you are 6 years old (or a member), you are free on this day! We’ll start by making party hats in the Art Garden, playing party games in three exhibit areas. Then beginning at 12 noon families can pick up free magic show tickets for either the 1 p.m. or the 2 p.m. show with Christopher Fair. Then you can meet the famous Three Pigs at 3 p.m. in the Village and finish your day with a ParticiPlay at 4 p.m. upstairs in the Days of the Knights exhibit. Children will receive a treat bag to take home as families leave the party. So, happy birthday to Treehouse! And many more! Speaking of our 1992 opening, here's a picture of that very day when Treehouse first opened its doors in the Ogden City Mall.
