We are going back to the roots of our pottery traditions! Ever wonder how they used to (and still do!) make such beautiful vessels without a potter’s wheel? Join us for our unique online ceramics class where you will learn a variety of hand building techniques (including coil, slab and pinch/pull) in this four-week, project-based, on-line ceramic class. Projects may include decorative and functional coil pots, bowls, or containers, ocarinas, mugs, vases.

When the session is complete, we will let you know when you can drop off the pieces you create in this class for bisque firing. To finish your piece, you will be invited to a glazing class when the Center re-opens.

Included in the class fee is 12.5 pounds of clay. Students will need to provide their own tools. If you need to purchase tools, we have some basic kits available for $10. Finally, students will need to supply a piece of heavy canvas, wooden board or drywall at least 18” x 18” to work on, and a rolling pin (or fat dowel).

5 Classes Total: (4) 2-hour classes online, plus one in-person glazing class (Date TBA)

Please let us know about any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or special needs that we should be aware of. In addition – if you are registering for a child – to provide your child with the best experience possible at HCA, it would be very helpful if you let us know the following information: Does your child have an IEP, 504 plan, or require extra or one-to-one assistance at school? Is there anything else that would be helpful for us to know?
Would you like to make a donation to the HCA annual fund to ensure that we can continue to offer free events, and make exceptional arts programs accessible to all?
