Course Description
A fun and collaborative week of jazz playing that will take your child’s musical skills to the next level! All levels of experience are accepted, from beginner to advanced. Students will be matched with other players based on their skill level. Whether your child is just starting their jazz exploration, or they are an accomplished performer and passionate about continuing their studies, this week long program will fire up their passion to play music! A final performance will be given at the end of the week. Students should bring lunch, snack and a water bottle with them each day.
Jazz Ensemble Workshop will include:
Jazz Improvisation: Students will learn the building blocks to improvising Jazz Theory/Composition: A review on reading and writing music
Instrument Specific Masterclasses: Group lessons among similar instruments
Jazz Combo ensembles (to play on last day)
History/Jam Session: Explaining the history the music with interactive playing
Additional Private Lessons will be made available (additional fee)
Prepare for your next big audition with Tony-nominated actor and performance coach Jere Shea. Whether you are auditioning for college theater programs or simply want to ace your next community or professional theater audition, learn from an industry expert. In this workshop, actors will explore self-selected and prepared scripted monologues, refine their performance, learn new techniques and gain new insight into acting and auditioning. Please memorize and prepare in advancea 2-minute scripted monologue (serious or comic) from a play of your choice and bring a copy of its text to the workshop. This workshop is intended for actors age 15 through adult. Please Note: For the purpose of this workshop, material from movies and television should be avoided. Jere will however discuss on-screen auditions during the workshop.

Jere Shea is a Tony Award nominated actor, musician, acting teacher and coach originally from Boston, Massachusetts. When not performing, Jere has taught acting, musical theater and vocal performance at schools including Emerson College, Boston College, and Northeastern University in Boston, and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Jere has been a guest lecturer at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH and Princeton Day School in NJ. He provides novice, intermediate, and advanced instruction, and offers individual and group lessons to people of all ages, private coaching, workshops, and master classes in acting, scene study, monologues, musical theater performance, and auditioning. Jere specializes in preparing aspiring actors for the college and professional training program admissions process.
Jere stars in the Ben Affleck and Matt Damon produced Showtime series City On A Hill (2019) with Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge. He appears with Charlie Hunnam, Jack O'Connell and Jessica Barden in Max Winkler's film JUNGLELAND (2019). Jere also starred in Passion (American Playhouse/PBS), Path to Paradise (HBO), Law & Order, The Cosby Mysteries (NBC) with Bill Cosby, Rita Moreno and James Naughton, and A Season in Purgatory (CBS miniseries) with Patrick Dempsey and Brian Dennehy. Jere appeared as Dr. George Soper in the story of "Typhoid Mary" Mallon - The Most Dangerous Woman In America (NOVA/PBS). He also starred with Donnie Wahlberg, Will Arnett, Rose McGowen and Anne Meara in the Boston based feature film SOUTHIE (Best Film, Seattle Film Festival).

A play presented each week! Using well loved stories, students will learn, stage and perform a one act play for family and friends in just one week. Creativity abounds in this fun workshop that will include improv, music, dancing and acting games. This week's planned production will be Annie.
